Let's Build Foundations for Families Together

Kent Attainable Housing partners with low-income families to build homes that they can afford to buy. We make it possible for families who cannot afford high rents  to buy a home, build equity, and own an asset, taking their first steps out of poverty.

We soon will complete construction of our first energy-efficient, three-bedroom, two-story home in downtown Chestertown.  Its design and engineering will be a model for the 40 plus properties we expect to build over the next decade across Kent County.  Each family who purchases one of these properties will enjoy the benefits of home ownership – permanency and stability – along with the opportunity to build equity and community wealth.

We ask for your support to build homes that low-income families can afford and to provide the educational opportunities to ensure that our families are prepared to meet the responsibilities of home ownership.

We need funding for:

More land in Kent County

We need $300,000 to buy land for our next 10 homes that would provide stable housing for another 25 to 30 children.

Materials for our homes

For example, a front porch costs $1,600. A fence, $1,000. A rear deck, $800. A garden shed, $600.

Part-time staffing

We need a program manager to support our applicant families and an executive director.

Funding for mortgages

We assist our applicants who need more time to establish their credit.

Your donation makes it possible for us to build homes that low-income families can afford.
