Our Impact

Hear our applicants tell their stories about partnering with KAH

PROSPECT STREET – CHESTERTOWN

Kent Attainable Housing’s Prospect Street Project in Chestertown addresses urgent issues within the downtown residential district. The area is characterized by vacant lots and deteriorating abandoned buildings, and recent funding will contribute significantly to KAH’s ongoing revitalization effort in that neighborhood. The momentum is strong with previous success stories, our 2024 building projects on Prospect, and our future 2025 plans focusing on addressing blight, increasing safety, addressing immediate affordable housing needs, and rejuvenating the community.

BUTLERTOWN and KENT COUNTY

In a similar vein, our construction plans in Butlertown highlights KAH’s commitment to preserving the historic African American communities and working with marginalized communities to protect our shared heritage and promote financial stability. Additionally, the funds allocated for Rock Hall, Millington, and Kennedyville indicate KAH’s dedication to conducting much-needed research into housing affordability challenges and identifying customized solutions that are essential to addressing the needs of residents who are facing financial constraints in our county.

We are incredibly thankful for our partners who generously contribute their time, resources, and skills to assist us in constructing and selling affordable housing to hardworking, income-constrained families in Kent County, Maryland.

These partners offer pro bono services, expert guidance, financial and homeownership training, building materials, and funding for our applicants. Without their support, we would be unable to fulfill our mission.
